NEW HAVEN POLICE MAKE AN ARREST IN TODAY’S SHOOTING INCIDENT
(11/7/2007) NEW HAVEN- This morning, New Haven Police officers responded to 94 Columbus Avenue on a report of a person being shot. Officers located 18-year-old James Garvin, New Haven resident, with a gun shot wound to his lower back. Garvin was transported to an area hospital and is in stable condition. Officers who arrived on scene spoke to numerous individuals within the Church Street South Housing Projects, who provided information on the suspect responsible for the shooting.
Thanks to the work of numerous officers and detectives and the information provided by witnesses, New Haven Police arrested the suspect responsible for the shooting, 18-year-old Robert Galvin. Robert Galvin was charged with Assault in the First Degree among other crimes. The suspect resides at 90 Park Street in New Haven and is the brother of the victim. Officers also recovered the firearm believed to have been used in the incident.
